“1000 generations has opened up worship’s expressive vocabulary.
Throughout their very special album, ‘prayers,’ they remain true to
a singular vision, a way of speaking to and about God that is as liberating
as it is exhilarating. From its resplendent cover art to its delicate
aural accents, ‘prayers’ is the best new album of the year.”

Truly, 1000 generations strives to create music and art that moves
people and encourages them to have life-changing experiences with
God in an open, honest environment.
Led by the 24-year old husband and wife team of Steven and Amanda
Potaczek, who also are staffed worship leaders at the Indianapolis
Vineyard Community Church, the group normally travels as a five-piece
composed of individuals from all over the globe. “We are psalmists,
writing songs that are vulnerable, transparent prayers, which express
the inexpressible for others,” says Steven. Stylistically, 1000 generations
has a piano-driven, world-influenced pop sound often compared to that
of Paul Simon, Michael W. Smith, and Peter Gabriel.
Though the group has only recently released their debut album, they
are quickly garnering quite a following among young to middle-aged
adults. ChristianityToday.com selected them as one of the top ten
independent bands of 2004 stating that their music “has everything
you could ever want in a worship album: original songwriting, a relatively
unique sound, breathtaking musicianship, and a passion for encouraging
others to walk closer with the Lord.” While their music offers something
for everyone, 1000 generations sees their primary audience as being
ages 21-45.
It is said, “By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open
up with God.” (Mt. 5:16) While creating music and art that is expressively
worshipful and honest, 1000 generations desires to bring an atmosphere
of excitement and blessings for all present to have awesome experiences
together and with God. |
